This is the Sunday writer’s mic

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6MMlw5F1WI

0m27s Rewinding time is fun

1m25s The “cancel relationship” line should be later on

1m48s I shouldn’t call out applause breaks

2m12s Audience member outwitted me, if I was quick I would’ve offered to do it 3 times and have her owe me 3.5 inches

2m53s VCR manual always gets a laugh with comics but never with a real audience

3m57s The first “help me” should be more distraught

4m24s Kill the material between here and 4m42s

Overall: I tried out some newer material and it mostly worked. The Rock, Paper, Coat hanger might only work with meaner audiences, and the bits about my Russian background need to be tightened.

This is the midnight show and the checkspot

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEbHe0GjUBg

0m57s I should’ve started nodding a half second sooner

1m22s I missed “if you do that” before “then you got huge tubes”

2m00s My tone for “Igor likes this” wasn’t drastic enough

2m14s Talking way too fast

2m41s More emphasis on “circus”

2m58s I shouldn’t have two sentences in a row that start with “but”

3m35s No need to drop in the yearbook thing

4m30s Calling out the current situation always gets a laugh

6m01s I need more emphasis on “huge tubes”

Overall: I talked too fast and my tonality was off. I need to learn how to do a check spot better.

Second show of the night

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKsTXFMPdMY

1m08s Pause between “then you got” and “huge tubes”

1m44s Rhetorically ask the crowd “Do you know what the worst part of breaking up is?” instead of just telling them

2m57s Say the three words with a one second pause between each one

3m45s I said “she actually means it” in a weird tone

Overall: This set was only four minutes long, the main thing I noticed is I should slow down.

The 8PM show

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq2cRUJcqHs

1m02s Too much emphasis on “that”, not enough emphasis on “tubes”

1m22s I missed the words “This leads to” before “Ben’s practical tip of the week”

2m31s I messed up the Jehovahs witness punch line, I think I forgot the line right before I was gonna do it, you can see the pause

3m13s I should’ve gotten out of this joke after the “I just assume they’re deaf”

3m37s I gotta remember the “I’ll try not to break it up” line

5m29s I need to react to the audience members response when I ask them

5m51s Getting laughs on two of my last three lines is my current par for the course

Overall: Decent set but I could’ve talked slower the whole time. I found one line that I improvised that I need to start using consistently

This is the midnight show

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRje032PFpw

1m11s The mic is a little loud, I should’ve adjusted better

1m48s I like how I spent 10 seconds trying to get a better look at a woman’s breasts in the back

2m52s I don’t do this joke that often anymore, it’s good to know it still gets a laugh

3m02s No need to interrupt myself here with the “stand up comic, not a stand up guy”

4m15s The checks are starting to get dropped

4m42s Deliver each word slower

5m19s I pointed to older people for the yearbook reference

6m22s Get into the joke while still looking at the people I asked about their first date, it’ll make it more conversational

7m32s Pause and look at the crowd for a few seconds before saying it

9m34s It’s never good when I have to go into more than one “if you don’t laugh” joke

Part 2

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffjpVZx7fYU

Overall: I did well until all the checks were dropped, then I just focused on the few people who were actually listening instead of paying their bill. One day I’ll be funny enough were nobody bothers to look at their checks until I’m off the stage.
