Performance Critique: April 29

There were 5 audience members.

0m37s Very chatty audience members

1m58s Everytime I remember to do the “you turned to each other and said ‘your tubes are kinda large’” it gets a good laugh, but I tend to forget to do this line

2m42s Deliver this line more sarcastically

3m05s My new joke isn’t working, but it is keeping the chatty audience engaged

3m22s Great transition to jump out of the joke and into another one, and it got the audience to quiet down

3m51s I said “myspace” too harshly, it should be delivered much softer

4m05s And I managed to get back to the joke I had originally wanted to transition to from the bagel bit

5m49s There’s some spots where you have to ignore whatever the audience is saying, or the punch line just won’t work

6m07s Stop using the “I wont have kids until I run out of material for jokes” line, or reword it a lot

7m15s The two comparisons of the unemployment office need work

7m48s I missed the word “sign” in that joke

8m15s I think my drinking water on stage makes the set more low key and conversational

8m37s True story, no joke

9m04s This is the first time ever that “it’s all downhill after the stand up” got a laugh… of course, this is the first time that “jumping into an orgy” didn’t get a laugh

9m35s Don’t say the word “bam”

Part 2

0m37s I think this is as good as one can do with 5 audience members

1m07s I need to incorporate “if you’re over forty, think of your yearbook photo” into this joke

1m40s The Halloween outfit still needs work

2m28s I should’ve repeated the punch line to test the theory

2m55s I stumbled over my first punch line

2m58s Great comeback from the audience member “how did your pole feel about that”

3m50s I need a better punch line that gets the same point across

4m20s I need a better end then saying the word “home” again

5m25s I love being propositioned on stage

5m35s And misinterpreting it on purpose

6m08s The callback takes 1.5 seconds to get a laugh, I need to be patient and confident when delivering it

Overall: Considering it was just 5 audience members, I did really well. I managed to keep a chatty crowd under control, and got some really big laughs. This was also a fifteen plus minute set, which I don’t’ always get a chance to do. And I like drinking water on stage to slow down my delivery and be more conversational.
