The 8pm show

httpv://youtu.be/VeaugxO2KbA

0m08s Say thank you an extra time to increase the odds the guy in the back stops talking, or take a longer pause

0m28s Having someone “shhh” for me is better

4m48s Good idea doing crowd work after that bit, smoother than going straight into material

6m12s Consider cutting or reworking this whole part

7m45s Good job waiting for the crowd

8m55s The cross country flight needs punching up, it’s weaker than the first two parts of this joke

12m07s Try “started charging eighty” instead of “upped my price to eighty”

12m53s Have the hand puppets kiss at the end

16m09s Make the waiter sound even sadder

17m20s I like the ending, would be good to do two one liners instead of one before doing the reveal

Overall: Decent set. Minutes 12-17 had too much sad stuff in a row and I didn’t make enough use of the safe word concept. I also could’ve addressed the talking a little more.

Going last at a music mic

httpv://youtu.be/_tpF3vWCVEM

4m15s Need to figure out if I should ask the question again if they answer it instead of saying “why”

4m55s Be a little more smiley/happy after the Blade character

5m50s Change “casket” back to “nursing home”

6m38s Seem more offended

7m35s Enunciate “upped” better

9m21s Air quotes should be on “super tough” not “movie watching”

10m28s The jump into the character is a good idea

10m46s Good job waiting for an extra second on the last line, might want to wait even longer or add “I’ll see you after the show”

Overall: Decent for last at a mic. The way I’m closing this set is definitely worth exploring.

An 8pm show

httpv://youtu.be/Syi-K380HFk

1m01s Could’ve repeated the set up again

4m24s I don’t need the carpenter tag if the ripsaw line gets a huge laugh

5m08s When one hand up, the other should go down

7m23s Figure out Blade’s walk better and walk around as him during the set a little so it doesn’t look as weird

Overall: Good set, jokes hit and I was able to do 3 Blade bits in under 8 minutes without creeping out the audience. This is also the first time I left on the “I have a secret” line and I liked the effect.

The 8pm show

httpv://youtu.be/_u21tvRAtkM

3m05s Good to start laughing on “didn’t make it” makes it less harsh

3m15s Great improvised bit

3m57s Nice call back to improvised stuff

5m26s Good job “reacting” to the one audible “hmm”

7m48s Not a bad line to put in, “now that we’re all friends, let’s do some therapy”

10m07s More emphasis on “real”

10m56s Stepped on the laugh a little, but I was trying to finish before all the checks get dropped

Overall: Great set. My material hit really strong and I improvised and played with the crowd. The birthday stuff at the end was a little too heavy/sad at times, I should play with way to make it funnier and less sad.

MCing the 8pm show

httpv://youtu.be/bLvxHtO6mEk

0m22s Nice going straight into crowd work

3m58s I did four straight minutes before going into material, I feel that’s a new record for me

4m44s Look up higher and don’t tilt head down while doing the confused face

5m34s Could’ve made fun of the guys lack of answer after his friend gave a good answer instead

6m20s Could’ve asked more info about the late people

7m10s Could’ve made up some stuff about what he was texting

10m19s Give it another half beat after “they’re not all drunks”

11m44s Go into the need therapy in a funnier way, or keep asking her about the most messed up cases

13m24s Don’t say “that one’s for me” 3 times in one set

14m22s Try to rephrase “then I turns into, oh I wanna be independent, but together”

Doing time between comics

httpv://youtu.be/kW93yBpxMKA

0m20s Pause between each of her words as it’s supposed to be a little kid

0m52s Sell the “oh it’s okay” stronger

1m34s Say “I can’t get married either” first or something, it’s weird where I went into the joke

3m24s Don’t stumble on the words, but at least I acknowledged it

5m23s Hit “emergency” more sarcastically

Overall: Great job with the crowd work up front and not forcing material. The response to material was up and down but I did a good job as host getting to know the audience, being friendly, high energy and interacting with them.
