This is the 8:30 show

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DwuWWoi7-M

0m18s There were 6 people in the audience and 5 of them were foreign, which is why I started with greeting them in foreign languages

0m29s I love the coordinated “why”

2m15s This is me realizing my jokes rely on advanced English words like “fallopian tubes” that foreign people probably won’t know

2m55s I went with the most “act out” joke that doesn’t really on words that I had

3m15s And it didn’t really work, so I stopped doing jokes

4m05s I had to try a joke once more

4m33s At least I’m having fun

5m49s No idea why I decided this was the joke to tell

6m18s I need to emphasize “YOU”

Overall: Once I realized I wouldn’t be getting laughs because the audience’s English was limited, I had fun just talking to the audience

This is me back in New York for good (I’m only doing shows in New York for all of June and July) – it’s a small crowd and 7PM

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtEE5b_SgGA

0m22s I decided to try this joke out as my opener, it doesn’t work

1m21s This seems to be a dead crowd, or I pissed them off really early

3m49s The person in the audience replied “he was the pizza boy”

5m20s I can make my statement of “you guys like to smoke the drugs” more dramatic if I pause, took a careful look into the audience, and then say it

6m42s Say “everyone in New York” before looking around

Overall: I did all my jokes the regular way but it didn’t get many laughs. I’m not sure if it’s because I tried a different opener or I just didn’t vibe with the crowd.

This was my big leaving DC show, so there was an actual audience of like fifteen people.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyOPhJjdaNA

1m43s Missed saying “if you do that” before “then you got huge tubes”

1m56s Not sure what the person said

2m13s Look at the person who didn’t get the dog a gift when I say “most people love their dogs”

2m55s I’m surprised that still got laughs after the guy’s response

4m36s First time this punch line got the laughs it deserved

6m07s Great improved comment

6m49s I talked over laughs right there, slow it down

7m35s There was no need for a “if someone doesn’t laugh” line right there

8m14s Another spot where I didn’t need a “if someone doesn’t laugh” lin

Part 2

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of8hTlhozPY

0m07s I lied

0m42s It should’ve been “half eaten bagel”

0m55s I didn’t make the right facial reaction

1m47s I need to put the emphasis on “YOU” and use “kidnap” instead of “abduct”

Overall: This is me doing 12 minutes in front of a decent sized crowd. Looking at the tape a month later, it was a pretty good set. However, at the time I felt I didn’t do that well. Good thing I tape everything.

(Random note: At the end of this show, since it was my last time in DC, I was roasted by the other comics. Unfortunately, I only recorded that on my phone and my phone was replaced before I could upload it…But there were gems like “you’re the reason abortions should be legal”)

Back in DC for a small crowd of 4-6 people.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Im-iflqjA

0m31s It should be “her decision” not “her choice”

0m45s The host didn’t do any crowd work so I had to do some

1m32s Weird inflection on “needs to change”

1m51s There were no women in the audience except the bartender

3m24s Great response from the audience member

3m54s I need to write a new joke instead of the Halloween outfit

4m56s Need to have a “That’s” before “your first date”

7m20s I brain stormed a bunch of different punch lines to the same joke with a comic the night before and decided I’d try them all out to see which was funniest

7m45s The best part is this experiment is that it isn’t even that good of a joke

8m28s Too punny

9m05s Pretty terrible act out, good thing I’m not a real nascar driver

Part 2

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNuOZziaDZ0

0m43s Funny but true

2m25s It should be “putting comedy first” not “putting comedy number one”

Overall: It was good to work out a bunch of material and do a longer set. However, it’s tough to tell what new jokes are worth keeping if it’s such a small crowd.

Another show in NYC

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIxzueXm19s

0m14s Getting an audience to clap a second time can either demonstrate that you’re in charge, or lose them at the start

0m33s And I lost them

3m03s I should look at my outstretched arm when I say “puppies for yuppies”

4m21s No need to say “during conversation”

4m35s Never good when me explaining the joke gets more of laugh then the jokes

5m11s I love when it takes me 5 minutes to start getting laughs

5m41s The Halloween outfit part has to go

Overall: I started weak but ended strong. The good news is that I powered through without quitting on my delivery and energy. However, this set is never going to be used as a demo tape
