The 8:30 show

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcflxyDsf2U

0m32s He said he’s a pro fighter, and he looked like one too

0m45s I needed to get to this sooner

1m53s That wasn’t meant to be sarcastic

2m12s This is a new line and seems to be working well as a transition

3m16s I took a second too long to smile after “being on the plane”

3m29s I improvised the hair thing. This will be a keeper

4m05s I love the sound of the margarita blender in the background

4m27s I did the hand thing the right amount of times here

4m48s Might be time to consider getting rid of the “son not have doctorate, but he funny, sometimes” line

Overall: My crowd work at the beginning didn’t hit as well as it has been in the last few weeks but my material went over well and got solid, although not explosive laughs throughout. I didn’t try any jokes as I’m trying to put together a good tape to submit to festivals, unfortunately this won’t be that tape.

This is the writer’s feedback mic

0m10s The comic was talking about stealing during his set

0m17s It was freezing in the club

0m40s I wouldn’t usually open with this

1m10s This joke won’t work for a real audience

1m38s Might’ve been better to say “I love the public bus”

1m43s That’s an awkward laugh, not a “funny material” laugh

2m02s Terrible

2m58s There’s potential with the organic baby joke

3m45s True story, but not a funny joke

4m05s This joke is painful to watch, but I’m trying to do new material every week, and I don’t always have good new material

4m43s Funny response, but I think I struck a chord

4m56s If she wasn’t a comic, I’d go into her issues, but I’d rather let it slide

5m38s Do a more manly voice for “Batman says take two”

Overall: Most of my new stuff this week wasn’t that funny. However, the organic baby bit has potential.

This is me MCing the 10:30 show during a snowstorm

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=of-fJ_asmi8

0m34s I’m trying to just be fun and high energy as the host

1m19s Never had that line interrupted so clearly before

1m48s I’m being a little too high energy and kinda abrasive, I need to not confuse high energy with talking too fast

3m16s Don’t ask them where they’re from, make a statement

3m33s Statement like here

3m46s I could’ve explained states to the foreigners for a little

5m01s Stop asking them questions and make statements

5m16s It’s like I remember not to ask questions right after I ask a question

5m30s I only told them to clap to try to get a little more energy

5m42s I should’ve done more crowd work before going into more material

6m55s That doesn’t even make sense

7m19s I thought it was a good funny question

Overall: I sucked. I don’t think I got more than four people to laugh at a single thing I said. I think the interruption during the jdate joke threw me off. I should’ve gone with the comment more instead of implying she might be anti-Semitic, which I kidding about, but didn’t convey that properly. I did do a good job of being high energy but I forgot to talk slow so I ate a bunch of lines. I also jumped around from question to question instead of being in the moment and maximizing the most from each answer I was given. Lastly, I should’ve tried to move the people in the back towards the front to create more of a feeling of a singular audience.

The 8:30 show during a horrible blizzard

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DPhUx96gH4

0m13s There was a group of five sitting backwards

0m25s I’ve been playing starting with this question as it tends to get a laugh and helps me go into my material like it’s not material

1m24s Do the look stronger

1m48s First time in a while 3 straight lines missed on this joke, so I addressed it

2m26s Put more emotion and anger into the act out

3m22s Brand new joke and it worked

4m39s Do the hand thing one more time

4m59s Try going back to the hand thing on “sometimes”

5m17s I think the technical term for “stuffed thing” is “stocking”

5m32s I led into this statement differently than usual and it worked well

5m57s Nice to see the dog joke working

6m25s It’s time to consider getting rid of the rest of the joke after “you must love sweaters”

6m46s Don’t say “if you’re gonna do that” just “tip from experience, read the whole profile”

7m40s Really milked the sadness well here

8m11s I should’ve said “by that guy” and pointed to the guy I previously talked to about molestation

Overall: Most of the set was pretty good. For some reason that I can’t pinpoint the second half of the “Igor likes this” joke failed. I also need to tighten my dog joke by getting rid of half of it.

Another weekday show

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJdcfeUPW8I

0m21s The previous comic spent 3 minutes preaching about the virtues of anal

0m46s He said “not that she knows”

1m17s This is great

1m28s I don’t usually have the audience clap, but I thought this was the best way to transition from crowd work to material in this instance

3m15s I don’t need to say “my family isn’t happy I’m in comedy” I can go straight to introducing my mom’s line

3m58s I put too much emphasis on the word “all”

5m11s Not a terrible callback to previous crowd work, but it could’ve been stronger

5m29s Good job milking the sadness

5m44s I hate getting tongue tied

Overall: This was a very solid set. Finding out the guy stalked his girlfriend of seven years and milking that fact for the first minute was a lot of fun and helped get everyone in the moment. It was great that I was getting stronger and stronger laughs the longer I kept going.
