Hosting the writer’s mic

1m29s Try “that one’s not for everyone, it’s only for the girls that I’ll date”
Overall: Good for opening a mic. I did two older bits to setup two new bits.

The 10pm show
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3c_8_dVlRs
3m21s Pause between the first two lines
5m50s Nice natural reaction
5m58s And great improvised response
6m56s Eyes should be moving around more wildly and the whole time
Overall: Great set with 3 applause breaks. Two new bits worked pretty well too.
The 8pm show
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LifZYJRbA0Q
3m30s React a little more to their slight “aww”
4m28s Turn to the side for “no, not a women’s prison” so it feels more like an aside
5m35s Say “why Blade is in prison” instead of “he”
6m04s Could’ve tagged it with “I hope you’re not here with your “girlfriend””
6m42s Shift delivery on the second half of the sentence, that might get an extra laugh
Overall: Solid set.
Doing checks on the 10pm show
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A16w_VxR2f4
1m44s I should be more aware of not saying the “I hate your hair” to bald guys
Overall: Good for checks. Was able to do two newer bits.
Doing a spot on the 8pm show
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFTkpedNik0
0m38s Enough laughed that I can say “I also laughed” instead of the negative version
1m26s Make sure to pick out a couple when doing this part, or else it’ll get slightly awkward like this
1m52s Don’t go for that line after a slightly weird mis-end of a joke
2m55s Good bring back after the previous two lines missed
3m05s Should’ve gone to the mom bit, not this bit
3m41s Smile a little more on their reaction
3m58s Hold the hand motion for longer
5m17s Seriously, learn to make sentences
6m38s Sound a little a sadder on “another casualty of lost luggage”
9m54s Good call back to a previous improvised line to end the set
Overall: Very up and down. Some jokes/lines hit great, others missed pretty badly, but I kept moving, never fully lost the crowd, and ended on a strong laugh.
