Performance Critique: November 19

Tye 8PM Friday show

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qd4nZtu6MtU

0m38s Say it the way I usually say it, “I’m trying to go there again tonight, don’t ruin this for me” instead of the “you” tense that I said it in

1m55s Weird pause before job

2m13s Pause after “scared of my mom”

2m52s I shouldn’t have gone for a high five there, but he was really close to me and it seemed funny

3m20s Address the high five sooner

5m01s It was louder in the club than the video shows

6m59s Good improvisation, make it part of the joke

7m25s The guy was dressed in an army getup

8m09s I should’ve said, “wow, you guys really love shoes”

8m38s Add “I’m like a substitute teacher now”

9m06s Repeat “Jessica” then laugh, as doing my impression of them

Part 2

Overall: It was a loud disruptive crowd and I wasn’t able to get through a lot of my jokes but I did a good job of not being phased, going with the flow and playing off of the crowd. I still prefer crowds that actually listen though.

A music and comedy mic, after a two week vacation

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_WnThCRZHY

0m22s The song lyrics were “If you wanna do good, do good, if you wanna do bad, make a duvet” and I thought it was funny

2m02s Commit to singing this more

3m14s Cut this line

5m28s And keep cutting until around here

5m29s Play on the bartender’s comment more

6m05s I should write on stage more so I get better at this

Overall: Bad in a good way: I tried 4 minutes of brand new jokes that weren’t even fully written, and there’s at least 15 decent seconds in there.

Performance Critique: November 1

Going last, 2.5 hours into a show with a few people left

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOLWae93rao

2m03s Have a funnier response

3m44s Smile more while doing this joke, so the satire is a little more obvious

4m42s Stop doing the hand motion after “wait wait wait”

Overall: I got a couple of good laughs and ended strong but in general it was a weak set. The waiting in lines joke, which is the one I’m working on, didn’t really hit.

Performance Critique: October 30b

Going last on the 8PM Show for a small audience

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnS7keFttWE

0m28s It was a guy who clapped

0m44s Should’ve skipped past that line after it got so interrupted, or rewind back to “hi girls” first

2m44s Answer my own “what were the odds of that?” question with “one hundred percent”

6m35s I need a better response after I lure them in to yell out “do it”

Overall: Mediocre set. It didn’t help that half of the twelve people didn’t pay their bill until I was six minutes into my set.
