Performance Critique: January 11

Doing a regular set at my Astoria show

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E52QJyhkkxE

0m27s Don’t punch “twice” that hard

5m14s Decent save, but I’m using too many of them

6m21s Gas furnace line feels a bit forced

Part 2

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuYPmugY7Io

1m55s Best laugh of the set

Overall: Pretty weak. When material isn’t working I need to go into crowd work, not more material.

A mic with some audience

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DRcqOtmqWE

0m54s Instead of “putting pressure” it should be “applying”

3m29s Gas furnace tag might not be necessary

6m08s End it after “real sturdy belts”

Overall: So so. The dogs joke needs yet another rewrite.

Performance Critique: January 10a

An open mic with six or seven comics

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34e6DDPP784

1m09s Point the mic stand to the side, not into the audience

1m41s Change “intersection” to “overlap”

3m18s Cut it after “real sturdy belts”

4m05s Change “nursery” back to “nursing home”

6m55s Don’t read an actual poem, just leave it as a one line save

Overall: Little to no response but at least I practiced not speeding up my delivery when a room is silent.

A show for 10-12 people

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9tM4WHPplI

0m11s The guy before me used an overhead projector so I opened with this joke

4m22s It should be “you gave me a look like” instead of “you were like”

5m01s Pause before “I brought the pliers”

7m22s Good adjustment

Part 2

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=murY_BcC06I

3m45s Have a normal face for a half second longer before scrunching it up

Overall: I had light yet consistent laughs throughout the set.
